HLL Lifecare Limited, a Mini Ratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has invited online applications for the post of Associate Manager (Legal) at Noida.
Two things to note before reading further.
The last date is 12 August 2026. This is a short window, and the application must be made in the prescribed format — a form that has to be downloaded separately, filled digitally and uploaded. Handwritten applications will not be accepted.
The engagement is on a Fixed Term Contract basis in the Executive cadre. It is not a regular, permanent PSU appointment, and candidates should factor that in before applying.
The reason this notification is worth a serious look is the experience requirement. HLL asks for one year of post-qualification experience. For a Central PSU role carrying an annual CTC of about ₹7.58 lakhs, that is an unusually low bar, and it puts the post within reach of law graduates who are only a year or so into practice or into an in-house team.

Roles and Responsibilities
The notification sets out the work of the post under five heads. It is a broader brief than the title suggests, and it is worth reading closely because it spans transactional, contentious and secretarial work.
1. Contract management and legal opinions
- Drafting and vetting of agreements, MOUs, lease deeds, powers of attorney, indemnity bonds, bank guarantees, consortium agreements, EOIs and tender documents.
- Rendering legal advice and opinions in matters assigned to the Legal Department.
- Preparing the Legal Compliance Report and updating case status on a weekly basis.
2. Litigation management
- Engaging counsel to defend the company's cases before various courts and in arbitration and conciliation matters.
3. Drafting and court work
- Drafting replies to legal notices and complaints, and preparing pleadings — petitions, affidavits, suits, replies, rejoinders and evidence.
- Visits to various High Courts, lower courts and MSME Tribunals.
- Holding conferences with dealing officers and company counsel in connection with cases.
4. Arbitration and conciliation
- Attending and handling arbitration and conciliation proceedings.
- Examining and analysing the facts of arbitration matters and furnishing them to the management and company counsel for preparation of claims and counter-claims.
5. Secretarial work
- Submission of Board agendas for HLL's meetings to the directors at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

General Conditions Worth Noting
- Applications not in the prescribed format will not be considered, and no separate communication will be sent. This is the single most common reason candidates are knocked out at the threshold.
- The job title and reference code must be clearly mentioned in the application form.
- All information will be verified against original documents at the interview. False or non-conforming information will result in cancellation of candidature at any stage.
- SC/ST candidates must submit a caste certificate in the format applicable for appointment to posts under the Government of India. OBC candidates must submit a Non-Creamy Layer certificate in the prescribed format.
- Candidates working in Government, semi-Government organisations, PSUs or autonomous bodies must produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of the interview.
- HLL reserves the right to cancel, restrict or modify the selection process, or not to fill the post. The number of vacancies may be increased or decreased.
- Canvassing in any form is a disqualification.
Who Should Apply
This post suits a lawyer roughly one to five years into the profession who wants in-house experience in the public sector without waiting for the years of seniority that most PSU legal advertisements demand. The age ceiling of 37 keeps the door open well beyond the usual fresher window, so it is equally worth a look for someone making a mid-career move into a CPSE.
Two features of the brief deserve emphasis for anyone weighing it up. First, this is not a desk-bound advisory role. The notification expressly contemplates appearances and visits to High Courts, lower courts and MSME Tribunals, and hands-on conduct of arbitration and conciliation proceedings. Litigation exposure is built in. Second, the secretarial component — preparing Board agendas for submission to directors at the Ministry — gives visibility of governance work that a purely contracts-focused role would not.
Against that, the fixed term nature of the engagement is the real consideration. A fixed term contract in a CPSE offers genuine institutional experience and a recognisable name on a CV, but it does not carry the tenure of a regular appointment. Candidates leaving a permanent position elsewhere should weigh that carefully, and should also remember the NOC requirement if they are currently in government or PSU service.
