Who Should Apply
This is not an entry-level in-house position. The nine-to-twelve year band, combined with the requirement of an active practising licence, points to candidates who have spent a substantial period in commercial contracts — whether in a law firm's corporate and commercial practice or in another in-house legal team.
The emphasis in the description is worth noting. Alongside the usual drafting and negotiation, the employer repeatedly asks for commercial and financial literacy — financial analysis, commercial targets, business growth. Applicants would do well to lead with contract value handled, transactions closed and process improvements delivered, rather than with a list of practice areas.
The reference to banking and financing transactions and to maintaining the standard template suite also suggests that experience with a structured contract management system will be looked for.
