Eligibility for the Law Post
The essential qualification prescribed for the Young Professional (Law) post is:
- A Law Graduate; and
- 2 years of experience of practice with a Senior Advocate of a High Court.
Candidates should note that the experience requirement is specific — it contemplates practice with a Senior Advocate of a High Court. Applicants would be well advised to keep clear documentary proof of such practice (certificate from the Senior Advocate concerned, Bar Council enrolment, and related material) ready, since original documents must be produced at the interview and document-verification stage.
Age Limit
For the Law post, and for most other disciplines, the upper age limit is 30 years. By way of context, the notification prescribes a higher limit only for two disciplines — Full Stack Developer (35 years) and Hospitality Management (32 years). In every case the upper age limit is determined as on the closing date of application.
Remuneration & Terms of Engagement
The selected Young Professional will receive a fixed monthly remuneration of ₹40,000. The engagement is purely contractual and carries important conditions that candidates should read carefully before applying:
- The engagement is initially for one year, and may be extended or curtailed as per the functional requirement of the Brahmaputra Board and the candidate’s performance.
- Engagement as a Young Professional confers no right to permanent appointment or regularisation in the Brahmaputra Board.
- The engagement is on a full-time basis; the candidate shall not undertake any other employment, consultancy or assignment during the contract period.
- No CPF/GPF, HRA, LTC, medical reimbursement or other benefits admissible to Government employees will be provided.
- Leave: up to 8 days per calendar year on a pro-rata basis; leave beyond this will be treated as Leave Without Pay (LWP).
- Any false information, suppression of facts or submission of forged documents will result in cancellation of candidature at any stage.
Selection Process
The selection will broadly proceed as follows:
- Scrutiny of all applications received through the online portal against the prescribed eligibility criteria;
- Shortlisting of eligible candidates;
- Personal Interview / Interaction, or any other selection process determined by the Board;
- Document verification — shortlisted candidates must produce original certificates relating to educational qualifications, work experience, age and category, both at the interview and at the time of joining; and
- Final selection on the recommendation of the Departmental Selection Committee (DSC) constituted by the Board.
The Board has reserved the right to revise or modify the selection process at any stage, to limit the number of candidates called for interview, to reject any application without assigning reasons, and to decide not to fill one or more of the advertised vacancies.
