Eligibility criteria
Eligibility for each post is governed by the provisions of The Jharkhand Law Officer (Engagement) Rules, 2026. Applicants must be enrolled advocates and are required to furnish their enrolment number, legal qualifications, particulars of any prior empanelment as a law officer, and their work experience of the last five years. Candidates should read the Rules carefully to confirm the specific eligibility, experience and other conditions applicable to the post(s) they wish to apply for.
Retainership fee and allowances
The monthly retainership fee, allowances and other charges payable to the law officers to be appointed will be determined in accordance with the fee structure specified in State Government Order No. 1613/J dated 24.07.2026 and Order No. 1696/J dated 31.07.2026 issued by the Department of Law, Government of Jharkhand.

- Eligible applicants must submit their duly filled application in the prescribed format (Annexure-I) along with self-attested copies of all relevant documents in PDF format.
- Applications are to be sent through email only to: lawofficerapt@jharkhandmail.gov.in
- No application will be entertained in offline / physical mode.
- Applicants must attach documents relating to enrolment number, qualification, prior empanelment, work experience, and their domain expertise with citations of a maximum of 25 latest judgments (with a short note on the law points involved) argued by the applicant.
- An applicant may apply for as many posts as he/she is qualified for, but appointment will be given for one post only, at the sole discretion of the Government.
