Payment is online only (Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, IMPS, UPI, wallets). Bank transaction charges are borne by the candidate. The edit-window correction fee is ₹200.
Eligibility Criteria
Age (as on 01.07.2026)
Minimum 20 years and maximum 30 years — i.e., born between 02.07.1996 and 01.07.2006 (both inclusive). Upper-age relaxation: SC/ST 5 years, OBC (NCL) 3 years, PwBD 10 years, Ex-servicemen 5 years (as per rules).

A candidate can apply for only one post. Nationality: Indian citizen (or as specified in the notification).
Pay Scale & Salary
Specialist Officers (Scale I) draw a basic pay scale of ₹48,480 – ₹85,920 (₹48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920), plus allowances and perquisites as per the rules of the allotted bank.
Selection Process
- Online Preliminary Examination — qualifying; shortlisted candidates proceed to the Main.
- Online Main Examination — merit-deciding; only Main marks count for shortlisting and final merit.
- Common Interview (100 marks; qualifying 40%, relaxed to 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD), followed by provisional allotment. Main : Interview weightage is 80 : 20.

*For Law Officer & Rajbhasha Adhikari, the third test is General Awareness with special reference to the Banking Industry (instead of Quantitative Aptitude).
Main Examination (150 Q / 200 marks + Descriptive)
The Main has 150 objective questions for 200 marks (125 minutes), plus a Descriptive / Professional Knowledge paper (2 questions, 25 marks, 30 minutes) for Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari — total 225 marks. In the Main, only the Professional Knowledge test is merit-deciding; the other sections are qualifying.
How to Apply Online
- Go to www.ibps.in → open the “CRP SPL” link → click “Apply Online for CRP Specialist Officers (CRP SPL-XVI)”.
- Click “New Registration”, fill in basic details and note the provisional registration number & password.
- Upload your photograph, signature, left thumb impression, hand-written declaration, 10th certificate (and capture a live photo) as per Annexure III specifications.
- Fill the form carefully (Name, Email, Mobile, Post, Nationality, State cannot be edited), pay the fee online and Complete Registration.
- Save the e-receipt and system-generated application printout for future reference.

Online registration and fee payment are open from 1 July to 21 July 2026 at www.ibps.in.
Q2. How many posts can I apply for?
Only one post. Multiple applications are summarily rejected and the extra fee is forfeited.
Q3. Is there negative marking?
Yes — 0.25 marks are deducted per wrong answer in the objective tests. Un-attempted questions carry no penalty.
Q4. Which exam marks decide the final merit?
Only the Online Main Examination marks are used for shortlisting and final merit, combined with the interview in an 80:20 ratio.
