The National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT), under the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, has issued a vacancy circular inviting applications for the post of Consultant (Legal) at its Headquarters in New Delhi, on a contract basis. Eligible law graduates can apply in the prescribed format within 30 days of the circular dated 25 July 2026.

Eligibility
Educational Qualification
Graduation in Law (LL.B.).
Essential Experience
- 3 years’ experience, with knowledge of legal drafting, court matters, RTI, contracts, service matters and government procedures, including handling of civil matters in various courts.
- Excellent command over English; proficiency in Hindi is preferred.
Age Limit
Maximum 50 years.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
The Consultant (Legal) will assist NCCT in handling legal matters, drafting and vetting documents, and providing legal advice on administrative and service matters. Broad responsibilities include: providing legal opinions on service rules, contracts, agreements, court cases, arbitration and RTI matters; vetting agreements, MoUs, tender documents, legal notices, office orders and policy documents; assisting in litigation before various Courts, Tribunals, Consumer Forums, CAT and the High Courts; coordinating with Standing Counsels/Advocates and monitoring court cases; preparing para-wise comments, affidavits, counter-affidavits, rejoinders and written submissions; maintaining a database of court cases and ensuring timely compliance with court orders; examining disciplinary/vigilance matters; conducting legal research; and maintaining confidentiality of official records.

Applications must reach within 30 days from the date of the advertisement (25 July 2026). Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview, and interview dates will be communicated by email. No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.
